KDE Neon based Maui 1 released

The Netrunner team has announced release of Maui 1.0, first most release of KDE Neon based GNU/Linux distribution that offers a semi rolling operating system. Maui Linux is a continuation of Netrunner Desktop edition which was based on Kubuntu.

Since Maui Linux is based on KDE Neon, which is in turn based on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial, this distribution will be supported till end of 2018. This support includes regular updates of KDE components and minor bug fixes updates for core system components. This approach makes Maui, a semi rolling distribution. However, project also plans to release new installation images in every 3-4 months with updated packages.

A brief list of packages included in Maui 1 Aurora includes:
  • Linux Kernel 4.4.0~36
