VLC 2.2.1 'Terry Pratchett' Released

VideoLan announced release of VLC 2.2.1, with code name 'Terry Pratchett'. VLC 2.2.1 is first bug fix release of 2.2.x series. This release fixes  numerous number of crashes, codec isssues (VP9, Atrac3, AAC), regressions and several other issues like Resume, MP4 chapters, MKV over network and also some security issues.


Following are major highlights of VLC 2.2.0 series
  • VLC 2.2.0 auto-rotates the videos taken from phones, to fight Vertical Video Syndrome! 
  • VLC now resumes where you left off in all versions
  • Improves support for new HD codecs, VP9, opus and H.265/HEVC, for decoding and for encoding.
  • Extensions are now downloadable from within the application.
  • VLSub extension can download subtitles from the application.
